At times, it isn’t possible to attend a service in person. People can be too frail or ill to travel, be on the other side of the world or even have restrictions on the numbers at a service – There are many reasons why those who want to be part of proceedings, simply cannot be there.
A live stream of a service provides an opportunity to participate over the internet from anywhere in the world. Having the service recorded is especially useful when dealing with time-zones, lack of internet access at the crucial time or simply to be able to watch again and take in what is being said at a less fraught time. Recordings can be provided as downloads, on memory stick, Blu-ray or DVD and can be made available at any time after the service, even if not included on the original booking.
Both the Live Streams and the Recordings can be password protected if extra privacy is desired.
Wherever possible, we use a multi-camera setup with live switching. This enables us to give a more engaging experience and to incorporate any visual tributes in both the live stream and the fully edited recording.
We can provide a live stream from any location that has stable internet access or 4G.
We begin the live feed of the service 10-15 minutes before it commences to ensure viewers have everything ready, check their audio etc. Connection checks can be arranged prior to the day of the service to make sure you are confident with live feeds, whilst there is still time to sort out any issues.
Filming will always be done as discreetly as possible and always with our core values of Integrity, Quality and Expertise.
Our standard live stream of a service may be viewed via this website linked to our dedicated Vimeo account. Public services will appear on the 'Viewing A Service' page but ones that have been requested to be private will require a password available via the Funeral Director conducting the service.
To give viewers plenty of time to establish their connection, we normally start the live stream about 15 minutes prior to the scheduled service start time. This generally begins with a holding video and background music. Please note that this can sometimes be shorter if our access to the venue is limited or it is being transmitted via the 4G network rather than a traditional broadband connection.
Both the Live Streams and the Recordings can be password protected if extra privacy is desired.
Please contact the Funeral Director for details if the stream has been requested to be via another provider such as Facebook, Zoom and Skype or if additional privacy settings have been requested.
We are happy to arrange an advance connection test to give extra peace of mind if desired. This will need to be pre-arranged for at least 48hrs prior to the service and will need to be booked via the Funeral Director.
The live stream will be deleted very soon after the service concludes but we aim to make the video available for downloading or viewing via our ‘Viewing a Service’ page as soon as we can.
